MacNeal Group Announces Release of NASTRAN L-Series V1.0.0

Altadena, California – April 24, 2006 –The MacNeal Group, LLC (tMG), provider of software and services to the worldwide virtual product development (VPD) market, announced the release of NASTRAN L-Series ® V1.0.0. The NASTRAN L-Series has been created for the CAE professional who needs easy and affordable access to the power, reliability and flexibility of a true NASTRAN® system. Products in the NASTRAN L-Series are ideally suited for engineers who need individual access to NASTRAN capabilities without having to wait for expensive corporate NASTRAN resources to be freed up. And the NASTRAN L-Series products are a perfect fit for professionals who want to have their own NASTRAN system for consulting projects or work that would be convenient to carry home on a laptop computer.

Rich in Function and Features

The NASTRAN L-Series has been designed to run just like the “Big Boys” of the NASTRAN world. It’s not a look-alike NASTRAN emulator product; it’s the real thing, based on a “true” NASTRAN architecture with scalable matrix operations. The look, feel and use are like any other real NASTRAN product. Input and output formats are compatible and the system can be used in conjunction with most of the popular FE pre- and post- processors on the market today. A full range of modeling tools (grids, elements, constraint elements, material properties, loads, constraints) and solution controls are part of each L-Series product. And as an added benefit new and unique finite element technologies and solvers have been included to make sure that you are getting the best results in the shortest amount of time.

The Flexibility of DMAP

No need for you to have to compromise the use of DMAP that is important to many serious NASTRAN applications. All the L-SERIES products include the ability to use DMAP. You have the freedom and flexibility to use standard DMAP sequences, modify them, or develop your very own.

Choice of Capability Range

Choose the range of analysis capability that is right for you and your budget. The NASTRAN L-Series is composed of a set of three products. NASTRAN-LS is designed to perform linear static analysis, including inertia relief. The NASTRAN-LM product extends the range of NASTRAN-LS to include the capability to perform normal modes analysis and eigenvalue buckling analysis. The full analysis power of the L-Series is available in the NASTRAN-LD product, which includes capabilities to perform linear static analysis, normal modes analysis, eigenvalue buckling analysis, complex eigenvalue analysis, and frequency response and transient response analyses using either the direct or modal formulations. All the L-Series products are capable of solving models that range from small to very large.

Built by the Team that Knows NASTRAN

When you buy any of the NASTRAN L-Series products you have the comfort of knowing that you are getting functionality and quality that was built by the best team in the business, The MacNeal Group (tMG). The tMG development team is composed of a group of highly skilled commercial software development professionals that collectively have over 200 years of experience in building industrial-strength and reliable NASTRAN systems.

NASTRAN L-Series Support Program

The NASTRAN L-Series support program has been designed to offer a cost-effective way to obtain expert and responsive L-Series product support. There’s no need to pay annual lease fees or recurring annual maintenance fees to get high quality support. Get just the level of support you need through the convenient NASTRAN L-Series E-Support program. Each NASTRAN L-Series product comes with three L-Series E-Support certificates. This is generally more than enough to get the user who is familiar with NASTRAN all they need to begin and continue to experience the power and convenience offered by NASTRAN L-Series products. And for the less experienced user, the L-Series E-Support program offers the comfort of paying for only the level of support required. Each E-Support certificate entitles the bearer to get support for one support incident. Additional L-Series E-Support certificates can be purchased for a small fee via the tMG E-Store.

NASTRAN L-Series Documentation

Each NASTRAN L-Series product delivery includes a comprehensive set of documentation that provides descriptions of the features and functions of the L-Series products. These documents are written in a standard NASTRAN user documentation format and are intended to guide both the novice and expert user through the successful application of the NASTRAN L-Series software. The documentation set, which is delivered in PDF format, includes:

The NASTRAN L-Series Users Reference Manual
The NASTRAN L-Series Reference Manual
